Art Carlson

Art Carlson, SD 28

Born January 15, 1960 in Denver Colorado. I have a BS degree in Marketing from Metropolitan State University of Denver. Born with Arthrogryposis and stand at 4ft 6in tall, I have a unique perspective on life which can bring these life experiences to Colorado government and making it work for all people.

I currently work for Rocky Mountain Orthodontics and have been there for 16 years. CEO, Host and Producer of Conservative Internet Radio Show Art’s Place which airs every Saturday 3 to 5pm mountain time.

Has government experience as Vice Chairman – Aurora Open Space Advisory Board. I’ve lived in Aurora for 20 years.

Art’s family has Colorado connections going back over 100 years when his great-grandfather took the job as illustrator/cartoonist for the Rocky Mountain News in 1896.

John Lyons

John S. Lyons

John Lyons’ drive, character and work ethic were shaped while growing up in a small town in upstate New York in the ‘70’s. While attending high school, he worked in the restaurant business and worked his way up to head cook in a short amount of time. In addition to going to school and working, he received training as a diesel technician through his high school vocational training program.

Graduating high school led John to enlist in the United States Army. He spent the last year of his enlistment in charge of his unit’s repair shop. During his enlistment he earned numerous awards and commendations for his technical, organizational and leadership skills.

John relocated to Colorado in 1990 to attend Denver Automotive and Diesel College. He enrolled in the Master Technician Program where he graduated at the top of his class with a 4.0 G.P.A. Upon graduating he began a successful career as diesel technician that spanned over two decades and was a vital asset to the state’s transportation industry. John has showcased and grown his leadership skills and assumed leadership roles when needed to insure that each company remained successful. As a community volunteer, one of John’s most successful and rewarding projects was his involvement in the youth bowling league at AMF Aurora from 1993 to 2000. With the help of several volunteers, he built the league into the premier youth league in the Denver metro area. Being involved with youth bowling sparked John’s interest in teaching children that has carried over into his desire to earn his teaching license for high school History.

Since 2008 John has been enrolled at Community College of Aurora John is a member of the student government. John has been accepted into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and been selected to the Presidents List for outstanding academic achievement. Recently John began attending college full time so he can attain his teaching license more quickly and is anxious to start his new career inspiring and leading students into their futures.

He is a father of two and a devoted husband. A Colorado resident for more than 20 years and a proud veteran of our armed forces, John Lyons looks to represent you for State Senate District 28 this November.
