A 39-year resident of Aurora, Steve Hogan is married to Becky Hogan. Together they have lived in the High Point neighborhood since 2007. Steve’s career in service to Aurora began in 1974 when he ran successfully for House District 40, a district that then included most of the Arapahoe County portion of the City.  After serving in the State Capitol as a legislator for one term, Steve ran for one of the City’s At-Large City Council seats in 1979, besting several strong candidates in the most competitive council election in decades. His successful run that year began a remarkable and unprecedented record of service on Aurora City Council – six non-consecutive full terms over thirty years, ending in 2009.

During his years on Council, Steve provided a leadership role in several significant components of the City’s development—including city budgeting, regional cooperation, air quality, water management, local business interests, city personnel, and urban renewal.
